The buoy generators provide power to both the on-board and sub-sea systems. These generators can provide 20 kW of peak power, but are typically operated at about 75% capacity for increased reliability and decreased fuel consumption. The buoy holds enough fuel to allow the generators to run for 6 months without refueling. Fuel is filtered and the generators have an oversized oil sump to ensure reliable operation. On buoy power is available from 12 to 72 Volts DC and at both 120 and 240 Volts AC. Sub-sea power is available on each sensor port at 48 volts DC.
